11.00 – 12.00 Roundtable Discussion on The European Water Stewardship (EWS) Standard
For firms committed to sustainable water management, the European Water Stewardship (EWS) Standard is a practical tool assess, verify and communicate their water management practices to stakeholders and have such practices independently certified.
John Durkan (Sustainability & Environmental Manager – ABP Food Group) will kick off this roundtable discussion on the EWS standard by providing insights into why ABP haven chosen to implement the standard across is production sites along with their experience of doing so.
Ken Stockil (Director -Central Solutions and member of the EWS Standard Development Committee) will then facilitate a roundtable discussion on experiences, drivers and challenges associated with EWS Standard certification as well as providing an opportunity for participants to reflect on future developments and the impact of BREXIT on the adoption of the standard in the UK.
12.00 – 13.00 Applying LEAN to Utility Management (including Energy, Water & IT)
The second half of the workshop will focus on the application of lean methodologies to utility and resource management.
Lean approaches and tools offer a powerful and proven means to drive energy, water and resource efficiency initiatives while delivering verified cost savings.
Participants will be invited to reflect on the role Lean can play in more effective Energy & Water management, how such programmes can complement other Energy & Water initiatives at a site level and how organisations such as J&J, Boston Scientific, GSK, Virgin Media and the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) have put LEAN UTILITIES tools and programmes into action at their facilities.
